Jay Barkley, CIE – President and CEO

American Environmental Group, Inc. (AEG) was founded in 2002 by Jay Barkley. Mr. Barkley has over 30 years of general business and client development experience. Consequently, Mr. Barkley has built his career around developing and maintaining long term relationships with a wide array of clients. When embarking on his journey to grow AEG, Mr. Barkley’s dream was to create a premier, full  service Environmental Consulting firm unparalleled in our industry. on the West Coast. Mr. Barkley realized his dream was not  going to be an easy undertaking and the only way to actualize his dream and achieve his goals was to surround himself with the very best-in-class colleagues and an exceptional team of experts in the field of Indoor Air Quality and Industrial Hygiene.

Since the genesis of AEG, Mr. Barkley has worked tirelessly to catapult the organization from a small start up mold testing company to a multi faceted, diverse Environmental Consulting firm specializing in Indoor Air Quality. He has overseen countless substantial projects with a personal investment in each and every one. With his leadership and direction, AEG has tackled projects Nationwide ranging from small property losses all the way to massive, large scale projects such as the wide spread damage in Texas resulting from Hurricane Ike, the catastrophe in Louisiana caused by Hurricane Katrina as well as the consequential effect of Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast.

Manwarjit Kaur – Controller

Ms. Kaur earned her B.S. Finance from Cal State Northridge in 2013 and is currently pursuing her MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University which will be completed in Summer 2017. Ms. Kaur serves as Controller for AEG and with her strong background in accounting and finance principles, she has proven to be a strong and effective leader.  Ms. Kaur carefully and proficiently guides the financial division of AEG and contributes effective financial management to our finance team.  She enables aggressive foresight into the business and provides knowledgeable and accurate information to her colleagues and senior management so that we can maintain our strategic growth plan. Ms. Kaur is a terrific addition to the AEG Leadership Team.

Bryan Hill – Senior Project Manager, Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC), CDPH Sampling Technician 

Manages daily operations, Field Technician’s report generation and review working out of AEG’s corporate office. Mr. Hill has over 10 years of experience overseeing projects involving asbestos, lead, mold, soot, bacteria and a variety of other indoor air quality environmental assessments. In addition, Mr. Hill is very conversant with building new client relationships, while maintaining our very important current client relationships. Furthermore, Mr. Hill was an integral part in acquiring and managing a 3 1/2 year industrial asbestos abatement project at a local Northrop Grumman facility (one of the largest AEG projects to date).  He has leveraged that into a new multi-year agreement with another Northrop Grumman facility in Southern California. Mr. Hill also travels, for AEG, to conduct various environmental assessments for large commercial projects all over the Continental United States. He has extraordinary work ethic, dedication, respect and core values that he gained from his 5 ½ years of service to our country in the U.S. Coast Guard.


Kerriann Barkley - Corporate Quality Control Manager

Kerriann Barkley has been an integral part of American Environmental Group’s vision, development and growth since it was founded in 2002.  As the Corporate Quality Control Manager, Ms. Barkley’s main focus is ensuring that AEG’s standards of exceptional quality and professionalism are achieved in every facet of the company.  Ms. Barkley’s innate strengths are building meaningful relationships both with customers and within our team as well as consistently striving to achieve genuine employee engagement.  Her wealth of industry knowledge, commitment to exceptional customer service and focus on common goal alignment help drive the company in the direction of excellence. 


Gary Brockway, B.S., Environmental and Occupational Health, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) – Technical Director/Sr. Project Manager

Mr. Brockway works out of AEG’s corporate office where he assists in managing daily field operations and manages projects that require an expert in industrial hygiene. He regularly updates AEG field personnel on protocols to assure sampling and assessments meet or exceed industry standardsstate, local and governmental regulations. Mr. Brockway has 10 years experience with varied industrial hygiene projects including, but not limited to, microbial, indoor air quality, methamphetamine contamination, wildfire/soot assessments, lead–based paint and asbestos issues. He has provided clear interpretation of sampling data and field activities as well as solutions to industrial hygiene problems in letter or full comprehensive reports for a variety of AEG clients. Mr. Brockway strengthens AEG’s ability to provide credible, expert consulting services. He has provided oversight of asbestos operations and maintenance activities within a radiological containment and a nuclear power plant, ensuring dual compliance with asbestos laws and regulations and health physics protocols. Mr. Brockway has also directed water remediation activities for an extensive water intrusion at a high-rise hotel, expediting drying activities thus preventing mold contamination.  He drives AEG projects to completion utilizing work ethic, dedication and special attention to AEG client needs. Mr. Brockway’s plethora of experience and credentials help keep AEG a premier Environmental Consulting Company from Coast to Coast.
